Our school nurse can help with a variety of concerns you may have about your child. For example: Sleep issues, Allergies, Bet-wetting, Behaviour Difficulties, Health Assessments, Healthy Eating, Immunisation and Infection Control. Michelle can also complete referrals for Occupational Therapy (OT) for conditions such as Dyspraxia and Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD)

What is early help and family support?
If you are experiencing difficulties in your family or are worried about your children, there are people who can offer help and support. Difficulties could be for example:
mental health problems
domestic abuse at home
drug or alcohol dependency
your child starting school

Our school’s Link Worker is ready and waiting should you need to contact them.
Our current school Link Worker Lucy Plowright is at the end of the phone on this number 07824 512983.
She can offer help and support through this challenging time and can help with things like putting new routines into place, tips and strategies for managing children’s behaviour, ways to help siblings be more co-operative and how parents can work together more effectively.

Is your child a Young Carer?
Worcestershire Young Carers is a service that supports young people aged between seven and 17 who have a caring role at home. The caring role could be for a parent, a sibling or a grandparent due to illness, disability, physical or mental health difficulties or substance misuse.

Introducing…. Hannah Lewis (Speech and Language Therapist)
Hello! I’m Hannah Lewis, Speech and Language Therapist at Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust. My role is to work with staff and families to enable them in supporting pupils speech, language and communication skills across school and nursery. This includes using strategies at a universal level, benefitting all children in the classroom, providing training and modelling in setting up targeted interventions and delivering specialist assessment and therapy. Attention Deficity Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a lack of impulse controls leading to a low attention-span, and hyperactivity. The disorder mainly affects children, but can also occur in adults.

St Anne’s CE Primary School is proud to introduce ‘The Tree House’ a nurture provision within school, which is available to ALL pupils who may benefit from a ‘nurturing’ and ‘enabling’ approach to improving self-esteem, social skills, confidence, emotional regulation, developing resilience or just a listening ear.
The Treehouse will provide a variety of functions such as:
The Tree House daily check-in for identified pupils. Your child will be invited if we think it will help them.
Also, depending on the identified need, we provide the following interventions:
Emotional Literacy identifies the status of pupils’ emotional literacy and provides follow up activities for intervention. The assessment covers 5 key areas including: Self-awareness, Self-regulation, Motivation, Empathy and Social Skills.
Talkabout is a practical resource which is aimed at improving Social Communication Skills such as: Listening, Conversational Skills, Body Language and assertiveness.
Socially Speaking will help pupils to practice the skills they need to develop and maintain relationships outside the school context. It is divided into 3 units: let’s communicate, let’s be friends, and let’s practise.
The Boxall Profile is a two-part checklist, which is completed by staff who know the child best. It identifies the levels of skills the children possess to access learning.
Interventions will take place once per week, for half a term and be rotated during the afternoon to ensure that pupils do not miss out on classroom input.
No interventions will take place without full consultation and discussion with parents. If it is considered that your child might benefit from any of the above interventions, you will be contacted by Mrs Montague in the first instance to discuss it further.
